Birmingham Hay and Seed Company
1740 Pacific Avenue
This polite three-story warehouse building cost $15,000 to build in 1903. It was designed by Proctor & Farrell, Architects. In the 1890s, William Birmingham had a wood-frame building on the site that was a shipping post for hay, flour, and grains. Later in 1917, West Coast Grocery bought and expanded into the 75′ x 120′ building (see Birmingham Block next door).
