When this building was finished in 1908, architect Frederick Heath completed his shaping of a cluster of buildings around 21st and Pacific. The brick and timber factory was the city’s largest producer of hardwood interior fixtures. An odd note: the ally between this building and the wagon works was the point of origin for the district’s only two large fires, one which destroyed the cabinet works in October 1907, and the second which gutted the wagon works in November 1972.
