In 1926, North Coast Casket Co. relocated to the new wooden building built on pilings for a new business making cedar caskets. It was a good use of leftover mill lumber. The materials for the building were quality old growth wood. Production from the skilled workers reached 12,000 caskets per year. The company was associated with the Hulbert Mill until the Hulbert mill burned in an intense fire in 1956.

The Collins Casket Co. shared space for a while, starting in 1932, with the former North Coast Casket Co., renamed the Cascade Casket Co. in 1944. Collins, run by Rasmus M. and Rasmus C. Collins, remained until 1991, then was run by Michael Keys until 1996. For a few more years, several non-casket companies used the building. In 2006, it was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Port of Everett wanted to redevelop the area and deconstructed the building in 2010.
