This little triangle building is wedged into the junction of Pacific Avenue and the main Prairie Railroad Line. It’s a point of great symbolic importance for Tacoma, where the joining of our main boulevard and our main rail line pretty much sums up the City’s early purpose and sense of place. This little Italian grocery store operated as a neighborhood institution for decades, with bins of different pasta, imported canned goods from Italy and a selection of wines before and after Prohibition. The 1903 building was virtually rebuilt during a rehabilitation in the late 1980s.
